Haven’t posted in awhile here. Today, I had too.
We lost one of the great character actors today. George Wendt.
He played Norm Peterson on “Cheers” from 1982 until 1993. He had one of the best entrances in TV history. Every time he walked into that bar, the crowd yelled “Norm!”
Was there ever a more perfect TV show? Norm was the perfect character too. Heavy, frumpy, funny. We all wanted to be the Ted Danson character, Sam Malone. That handsome former baseball player.
At the end of the day, most of us were Norm. That guy showing up at the bar to blow off some steam.
Here’s to Norm and George Wendt. A beer at “Cheers.” Everybody knows your name.
