“Told you so.”
I can hear my vaccine-adverse friends right now. By now, you know that the Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine may have problems, given it has been paused.
Six women developed blood clots after getting the J&J vaccine. One of them died.
The White House took to social media to calm fears. Dr. Fauci said, “The people who have already gotten the vaccine should not be worried because this is a very rare event. One in more than a million individuals.”
CNN is reporting that CDC advisers will meet today to review the cases of these blood clot cases.
I think it’s important to note that this is six out of 6.8 million doses of the J&J vaccine. With that said, it is six people and one death. It needs to be studied.
What concerns me most here is how this might affect those on the fence about getting the vaccine? We know we need 70-75% of the population vaccinated to reach to herd immunity. The White House says there is plenty of Pfizer and Moderna to go around.
It’s the perception though that seems to be a problem. If you were worried before about getting it, you are really worried now.
I hope they get this figured out quickly. We are all tired. Our cabin fever is rising. I know mine is. I’m ready to get out and enjoy life again. Paris is calling. Paris, Texas… and that other Paris, too.
